We connect local businesses in Hanoi Vietnam to the Expat community living in the city.
We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

- Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing and promotional purposes

To undertake analysis of how our site is used, we use software to see statistics in relation to our website use, for the following purposes:
- To know how many visitors per day visit the website
- To know how much traffic, we are sending outbound
- To know which items on our site are being downloaded (e.g. PDFs, long-form, reports, contact forms, short items, navigation, information)
- To identify items not found, i.e. 404s so that we can fix them
- To identify the types of operating systems being used and browsers so we can design our site accordingly
- To identify the time of day when our site is most used in case, we want to do syncs and repairs (that result in our site being down temporarily)
- To identify the percentage of the traffic that is going out over our servers.
These statistics are only available to Hanoi Expat Group. We keep the aggregate data indefinitely, and use this aggregate data to report to our partners. For instance, we will report that a page, file or document was downloaded X number of times.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, payment information, social media account or other details to help you with your experience.

How do we use your information?
We use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

Hanoiexpatgroup.com follow a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
How long we retain your data?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the products, services, content and activities of these linked companies and websites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these products, services and websites.
